2017 FROM INK TO APPAREL 2 -A CROSSOVER BETWEEN CALLIGRAPHY ART AND FASHION DESIGN

Yangzi Dong, one of the most important contemporary artists in Taiwan, was the first ever to hold a crossover exhibition combining calligraphy with fashion. In year 2017, she again endeavoured to this crossover attempt, adding some red elements and achieved a brand new pulse-quickening exhibition. BBR had the honour to be the narrative space curator. Lines have been a major way to record the world since before the flood. Water, brushes and ink performed as an extension of flesh and blood. The audience entered a world of lines, immersing themselves into the chi and aura of calligraphy, inhaling and exhaling along with the rhythm of the space. We saw silent movement and heard lines dancing in the heart of the audience.
