As the very first piece of Light Carrier-Y Project artwork, Y Project No. 01 was inspired by and formed as the endangered Formosan Clouded Leopard that was meticulously calculated and built via Computational Design, and completed with a perfect blend of illumination. This striding Light Clouded Leopard that marches towards the future is vividly displayed in Taipei Music Center Plaza, parading a fearless manner and shuttling among the mountain-like center behind, towards 2021. Another endangered living symbol-Taiwania-is taken to Y Project No. 0...
In year 2019 the Christmas city collection came Las Vegas-the Entertainment Capital of the world. We synthesized "Floating Piano" magic trick, magnificent stage and amusement ride ideas, and transformed them into a massive music box that float the citizens up and down in the city with wholehearted excitement, with their loved ones beside them. *Photos are provided by Uni-President "I-Sharing"
This is a stage play inspired by Nobelist Alice Munro’s short story “Dear Life” The Taiwanese director set the location on Taoyuan, Taiwan, to sparkle the empathy of the audience. As a result, we sampled the iron-sheet houses and fences all over Taoyuan as the foundation of the stage design. With this accurate and yet vague land scene as the stage setting--the corner that people pass by without having a second look, numerous life stories of new and old immigrants were told.
World’s Got Talent, the ultimate version of talent shows which have been favoured by millions and held in many countries worldwide. In this ultimate version, tens of amazing performing artists or groups gathered and commenced a border-less competition. Not only did BBR cope with all the contestants and customize a unique stage for each of them, but witnessed numerous breathtaking cross-border, cross-linguistic, and cross-cultural performances from all over the world.
"Bees flapping on the paper windows and butterflies hovering over the white wall" is the quote from the opera that inspired our design concept. We hence built short walls all over the stage, finely surrounding the Chinese orchestra. The lighting and shadow changed through the music and scenes, reflected a variety of images on the walls, metaphorically representing the leading characters’ imagination of the world on the other side of the walls. "Muddling along while waking, idly played with the parrots and waited for the plum blos...
A second project for Uni President Department Store after the Happiness Carousel in 2016, BBR used "A Walk in New York" as the theme for 2017. With NCCU Art & Culture Center’s invitation, BBR Narrative Director Huang I-Ju transformed his stage design work “Once, upon hearing the skin tone” into exhibited elements. A series of multi-media creative works based on withered flowers and petals are used to represent the radio show “The Lonesome Garden” in the play, and explain the characters’ relationships with one another. The petals are shown in the bathtub, on the candle sticks and in the vases, with different attitudes and meanings. We opened a door hole on a mottled wall and pr...
Sanyu’s artworks are as the word used “masterpieces”, simple, elegant but rich in layers. We often wonder if we still obtain the ability of admiring beautiful things in this high-tech world’s fast pace. BBR created a secret connection between the visitors and Sanyu in a contradictory dark and bright space, enabling the visitors to watch the artworks with peace of mind. With beams, architectural models and octagon-shaped display tables, visitors can have a closer look at the artworks. We dragged out 4 colour elements from the works as the ...

Yangzi Dong, one of the most important contemporary artists in Taiwan, was the first ever to hold a crossover exhibition combining calligraphy with fashion. In year 2017, she again endeavoured to this crossover attempt, adding some red elements and achieved a brand new pulse-quickening exhibition. BBR had the honour to be the narrative space curator. Lines have been a major way to record the world since before the flood. Water, brushes and ink performed as an extension of flesh and blood. The audience entered a world of lines, immersing themsel...
