2018 RELATIONSHIP BELOW THE KNEES

With NCCU Art & Culture Center’s invitation, BBR Narrative Director Huang I-Ju transformed his stage design work “Once, upon hearing the skin tone” into exhibited elements. A series of multi-media creative works based on withered flowers and petals are used to represent the radio show “The Lonesome Garden” in the play, and explain the characters’ relationships with one another. The petals are shown in the bathtub, on the candle sticks and in the vases, with different attitudes and meanings. We opened a door hole on a mottled wall and printed the actors’ images on it as a reduction of the play. The door was used for the actors to shuttle through both sides of the stage, and now as an element to provide visitors a peep on the angle by then. Relationship below the Knees hence became an exhibition that watched the actors and the visitors, standing, sitting or walking, on their different stages of life.
